About the role

The Quantum team’s mission is to make quantum computing tools available to the world. The Quantum electronics team is carrying out a broad range of Research and Development (R&D) aimed at implementing quantum computers, with a long-term goal of realizing a fault-tolerant quantum computer.

Responsibilities

  • Design custom electronic hardware to facilitate high-speed and comprehensive verification of test-equipment-grade quantum control systems containing analog, digital, and Radio Frequency (RF) subsystems.
  • Generate test plans for internal testing of analog/mixed-signal/RF components and assemblies and own execution of these test plans.
  • Own the design and development of automated testing platforms for use in production testing, including the design and fabrication of custom RF/analog test interface hardware where required.
  • Develop and execute upon hardware bench verification and reporting protocols, communicating hardware-under-test performance and compliance metrics to the larger quantum team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in custom PCB bring-up, testing, and hardware validation efforts, from planning through execution.
  • 5 years of experience using lab measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers (e.g., Keysight).
  • Experience in electronic design and test.
  • Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience overseeing test and manufacturing by third-party manufacturing partners.
  • Experience leading electronic test activities, either as an individual or within a team.
